About American Medical Rental & Supply

A division of Bunce Rental, Inc., American Medical Rental & Supply has been serving the greater Pierce County area since 1959. Bunce Rental, Inc. founders, Norm "Bud" Greenfield and Frank "Shorty" Bunce, started the tool and construction equipment rental division in 1946 upon returning home after serving in World War II.

Later, as an extension of their general rental business, Bunce Rental branched into the medical equipment and supply industry by renting crutches, wheelchairs, and hospital beds. In the 1970s, the medical equipment rentals grew to the point that it became segregated within the Bunce Rental store locations and began operating as American Medical Rental & Supply.

In the 1980s, American Medical moved into a new facility at 4358 South Washington in Tacoma. Around the same time, the Bunce Rental location in Puyallup was remodeled which included a new facility for American Medical to open a second location.

American Medical Rental & Supply is accredited under the Community Health Accrediation Program and is a member of the Pacific Association of Medical Equipment and the American Association for Homecare.
